innovation Centre
Craigavon, Co Armagh

HPA were appointed as lead consultant for the provision of a new Innovation Centre in Craigavon following a successful competition submission.

The design of the Centre provides an exciting and unique environment to support the growth and development of new technology-based business. The building provides a range of highly flexible incubator units of varying size, with potential for extendibility.

The Phase 1 proposal is a building of approx 1300m2. It is a high quality 2 storey building which is fully flexible and capable of extension to provide both additional business units and administrative and support facilities. The central spine that provides access to the units will have natural light and is designed to encourage interaction between tenants. The building incorporates air to water heat pumps as a renewable heat source.

Strong landscape barriers to the adjoining sites are included along with a sculpture garden adjacent to the main exhibition space for relaxation, discussion and inspiration.

The Building was completed in September 2007 within budget and programme.

HPA are presently in 2010 undertaking feasibility study for extension to the existing building such has been the success of the new facility.
