Millennium Court Arts Centre
Portadown, Co Armagh

A centrepiece for the town’s aspirations for the 21st Century, the contemporary style fuses effortlessly with the historic streetscape in which it is located.

HPA had a prominent role in the project from early feasibility sketches, obtaining funding and through to completion. The building has acted as a catalyst for the redevelopment of the area and in particular William Street in which it is located.

The work consisted of the conversion of an old run down Market Hall by the insertion of a new mezzanine floor and opening up of brickwork archways.

The extension is contemporary in style and contains starter retail units as well as a new purpose made market hall for the town.

HPA as lead consultant headed the design team and as well as providing our normal architectural services, assisted with the brief compilation; were involved in discussions with funders and stakeholders; provided energy and environmental advice; financial / feasibility advice; project management services and contract administration; public consultation and contract valuations. Services of Quantity Surveyor, Services Consultant, Structural Engineer and Planning Supervisor were sub- contracted to companies with whom we work with on a regular basis.
