Oakbank School Classrooms
Bedfordshire

HPA secured this project following a successful Design & Build Tender and interview process, with our partnering contractor, Reds 10.

The scheme comprised construction of 4 new classrooms to this existing SEMH school in Leighton Buzzard. Planning consent had already been granted prior to our appointment. However, it was decided that the project would benefit from following the modular construction route due to time constraints, hence HPA undertook design changes and subsequently lodged a new planning application. The scheme was constructed in 2 phases and HPA undertook overall design co-ordination role including structures, building services, and worked closely with the modular company. The building was clad with brick slips and metal cladding panels to match as closely as possible the finishes to the existing buildings. In addition, there were numerous planning conditions requiring formal discharge with Council and HPA undertook these applications. The works were completed in December 2016.
