Oakbank School Multi-Use Hall Bedfordshire
HPA were appointed directly by Oakbank School to undertake design for a new multi-use hall and obtain planning consent.
HPA had previously undertaken the classroom extensions for Oakbank school in 2016 and were appointed directly by the school on this second project. The school had previously obtained planning consent on two separate occasions over the years for sports halls, but none had progressed due to lack of funding. The school are currently having to outsource sports activities at various other centres around the Council area. HPA undertook the redesign to provide a much simpler and therefore affordable building. This included full design to RIBA Stage 3 including co-ordinating the M&E and Structural designs and overseeing a cost plan. The planning consent is expected in late June 2017, following which stage 2 design and build tenders will be issued to contractors.
