The Kennedy Centre
Falls Road, Belfast

The Kennedy Centre has recently undergone Phase 5 works of the major expansion project to extend the existing shopping centre and has included the construction of the largest Sainsbury’s superstore in Northern Ireland.

This recent phase of works undertaken as part of the overall Kennedy Centre Masterplan, includes 20 new retail units, ranging in size from 500 to 10000sqft, spread over 2 levels.

Alongside Sainsbury’s and other leading multi-national and international retailers including several franchised restaurants and a six screen cinema, The Kennedy Centre is fast becoming one of the leading retail and leisure outlets in Northern Ireland. Access to the new mall is currently gained at ground level via a new purpose built entrance, from the existing mall and by new travelators from the new semi-basement lobby and car park.

In addition to the construction of the new Sainsbury’s superstore the site now accommodates a new Sainsbury’s petrol filling station and the new Jobs and Benefits office. Phase 5 completed in August 2010 and extended the original shopping centre by a factor of three making the Kennedy Centre one of the largest independent shopping centres in Northern Ireland.

The new extension to the centre has been designed using a simple palette of contemporary materials and finishes and has been built and fitted out within strict site constraints allowing all retailers to trade during the construction process.
